Privacy policy

Last updated: 26 October 2026

1. Who we are

This policy is issued by Motiza Technology Inc., 400 Bronte Street South, Unit 212, Milton, Ontario L9T 7V1, Canada, and Motiza Technology Limited, Nzube Estate, Lokogoma, Abuja, Nigeria (together, "Motiza", "we", "us"). Each company is responsible for the personal information it collects.

Our Privacy Officer is responsible for how we handle personal information. For any privacy question or request, write to info@motizatechnology.com with "Privacy" in the subject line.

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains how we handle personal information about visitors to our website, people who contact us, learners in the Motiza Training Academy, representatives of our clients, partners and suppliers, and job applicants. It applies in Nigeria under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and its General Application and Implementation Directive, and in Canada under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. Personal information we process on behalf of clients is covered in section 5.

3. Information we collect

  • Contact and business details you give us through our forms, email or meetings: name, job title, organization, country, email address, phone number and your message.
  • Training Academy records: your name, email address and password (stored only in scrambled form by our sign-in provider), the courses you enrol in, your progress, assessment results and certificates. If your employer enrols you, we also hold your organization and the courses it assigns you.
  • Payment records: when you buy a course, Stripe or Paystack takes your payment. We receive the amount, currency, date and a payment reference. We never see or store your full card details.
  • Business relationship records: proposals, contracts, invoices and correspondence with clients, partners and suppliers.
  • Technical information: our hosting provider records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the time of each request, to keep the website secure and working.
  • Recruitment information: your CV, work history and references if you apply for a role.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information, such as health or religious information, through our website or the Academy.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not make decisions about individuals based solely on automated processing.

5. Data we process for clients

When we implement or operate systems for a client, such as Digitate ignio for a bank, we may have access to personal information the client controls. In that role we act as a data processor. We:

  • process it only on the client's documented instructions and under a written agreement;
  • keep it confidential and limit access to staff who need it;
  • use sub-processors, such as Digitate, only with the client's authorization and under equivalent obligations;
  • help the client respond to rights requests and breaches; and
  • return or delete it at the end of the engagement, unless the law requires us to keep it.

If you are a customer of one of our clients, please contact that organization about your information.

6. Who we share it with

  • Between Motiza Technology Inc. and Motiza Technology Limited, to deliver our services.
  • Service providers who run parts of our website and business for us, under contracts that protect your information: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database and Academy sign-in), Stripe and Paystack (payments), Resend (sending email notifications) and our email provider.
  • Your employer, if it enrolled you in the Academy: its administrators can see your enrolments, progress and results for the courses it assigned.
  • Anyone you give your certificate number to: our verification page shows your name, the course and the date issued, and nothing else.
  • Digitate, where your enquiry or engagement concerns ignio products.
  • Implementation partners working with us on your project, with your knowledge.
  • Professional advisers, such as lawyers, auditors and insurers.
  • Regulators, courts or law enforcement where the law requires it.
  • A buyer or successor if our business is reorganized or sold, under the same protections.

7. International transfers

We operate in Canada and Nigeria. Our Academy database is hosted in Canada, and some of our service providers, such as our website host and email delivery service, process data in the United States and other countries. When personal information moves across borders, we protect it with contractual safeguards or another basis permitted by the Nigeria Data Protection Act and its implementing directive, and we make sure it receives a comparable level of protection as Canadian law requires. Information held in another country may be accessible to authorities there under local law.

8. How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a relationship: up to 2 years after our last contact.
  • Academy accounts: while your account is active and for 2 years after your last sign-in, then deleted or anonymized.
  • Certificate records: kept so employers can continue to verify them, unless you ask us to remove the verification record.
  • Payment and financial records: for as long as tax law requires, usually 6 years.
  • Client, partner and supplier records: for the relationship and for the period required by tax and corporate law afterwards.
  • Job applications: up to 12 months, unless you are hired or ask us to delete them sooner.

After that, we delete or anonymize the information securely.

9. How we protect it

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls, encryption in transit and at rest where our providers offer it, staff confidentiality obligations and training. Course content and records in the Academy are protected so each person sees only what they are entitled to.

If a breach happens, we will notify the Nigeria Data Protection Commission within 72 hours where the law requires it, report breaches that create a real risk of significant harm to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, and tell the people affected as soon as we can.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • delete your information, or restrict how we use it;
  • stop using it for marketing, or object to other uses;
  • give you your information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw any consent you have given.

Email info@motizatechnology.com with your request. We may need to confirm your identity. We respond within 30 days and do not charge for reasonable requests.

11. Cookies and browser storage

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not use analytics that follow you across other websites. The Academy stores a small amount of information in your browser so you stay signed in and your place in a course is remembered. This is needed for the Academy to work. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings, which will sign you out.

If we add analytics in future, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

12. Emails from us

We only send course dates, news and invitations if you asked for them or agreed to receive them. Every such email tells you who sent it and includes a way to unsubscribe, which we act on within 10 business days. Emails about your account, a course you booked or a payment are part of the service and are not marketing.

13. Children

Our website and courses are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. A learner under 18 may only join a course with the consent of a parent or guardian, arranged with us directly.

14. Complaints

Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, or to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

15. Changes and contact

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will tell learners and clients about significant changes before they take effect.
