The challenge
End of Day on Finacle runs across every service outlet and then at bank level. In most banks it is supervised by operators through the night: they watch for failures, rerun jobs by hand, and wait for approvers to respond before the batch can continue.
Long or failed runs delay start of day, leave transactions unposted, and depend on a small number of experienced staff.
What we did
- Discover. Mapped the End of Day sequence, its checks, common failure points and approval steps with the partner's Finacle team.
- Build. Configured Digitate ignio to check the Finacle database and pre-conditions, run each stage, monitor progress and retry known failures.
- Approvals. Where a person must approve, ignio alerts the approver by email and keeps reminding them until they act, then continues immediately.
- Prove. Ran End of Day for all service outlets and the bank level in the partner's environment, retries included.
The result
- A complete End of Day in about 40 minutes, with no operator watching the run
- Known failures recovered automatically, without a call-out
- Approvals chased continuously, so the run waits only as long as the approver takes
- A demo environment the partner can show to its bank clients
What comes next
Bank pilots on their own Finacle environments, then start of day checks, post-batch tasks and faster resolution of unposted items, using the same engine.
